Cal/OSHA, also known as the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH), protects California workers by setting and enforcing workplace safety and health standards. In many areas, Cal/OSHA standards are stricter than federal OSHA standards.
Cal/OSHA standards, found in Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations, apply to nearly every worker in the state, including local and state government workers.
California construction employers must comply with a number of standards found in the following Cal/OSHA subchapters: Construction Safety Orders, Electrical Safety Orders and General Industry Safety Orders. You can find a full list of these standards on Cal/OSHA's website.
To satisfy Cal/OSHA training requirements, entry-level construction workers need to complete three hours of supplementary training on Cal/OSHA regulations.
