Course Details
Our MSHA Part 46 courses provide comprehensive safety training and potentially life-saving information to miners, supervisors, construction workers, contractors and other employees at Part 46 mines.
The 8-hour MSHA Part 46 New Miner Training Course educates new miners about MSHA regulations and safety requirements so they can start work at a surface mine. Our 8-hour MSHA Part 46 Refresher Training Course helps current miners satisfy their annual retraining requirement.
Modules
For each training course, you will progress through eight timed modules:
- Introduction to MSHA
- Overview of Surface Mining
- Health Hazards in Mining
- Hazard Communication
- Electricity, Fire and Explosives
- Mining Machinery and Equipment
- Materials Handling and Storage
- Mining Health and Safety Standards
You are required to pass a quiz before you can advance to the next module. Once all modules are completed, you must pass a 20-question final exam. You have an unlimited number of attempts to pass the quizzes and final exam.
