62-Hour Site Safety Training (SST) for Supervisors

Local Law 196 requires construction and demolition supervisors at most major jobsites to have 62 hours of SST and an SST Supervisor card.

Supervisors who need an SST card include:

• Site Safety Managers
• Site Safety Coordinators
• Concrete Safety Managers
• Construction Superintendents
• Competent Persons

These supervisors currently need an SST card to enter any NYC jobsite with a Site Safety Plan. You can check DOB Site Safety Construction map to find out if an SST card is required for your jobsite.

This 62-hour SST course package for supervisors includes all required training for your SST Supervisor card. That includes 30 hours of OSHA training, 28 hours of SST Required Courses, two hours of SST General Electives and two hours of SST Special Electives.

Also included with your 62 hours of DOB-approved Site Safety Training is a wallet-sized SST Supervisor card printed on durable plastic. Your official SST card will arrive in the mail.

Supervisors who have a 30-hour OSHA card that was issued within the past five years need to complete 32 hours of SST to qualify for the SST Supervisor card. You can satisfy this requirement with 32-Hour SST for Supervisors.

Yes. You can receive SST credit for any DOB-approved training you completed within the past five years. OSHA Education Center can accept course certificates from any DOB-approved SST course provider. You can also purchase any SST Supervisor courses individually.
